Our Estate vineyard is the Gardner Ranch in Willow Creek, California. Planted in 1973-74, it has the oldest vines in Humboldt County still producing wine. Tucked away on uplifted river bed from the nearby Trinity River, the vineyard produces mature and elegant Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Just down river in a slightly cooler spot, we manage the Covey Lane Vineyard planted in Pinot Noir and Syrah. Both of these vineyards are in the Willow Creek American Viticulture Area of Humboldt County, California. Established in 1983 , it is one to the oldest, smallest and most northern of all the AVA’s of California. We also source grapes from our neighbors in Humboldt and Mendocino Counties. All the grapes we farm are organically grown using ZERO synthetic chemicals and inputs.
Our wine is true to varietal and tradition, but rare in its steep and mountainous terroir. Our passion for sustainable agriculture and the rich history of wine, is what drives our winemaking decisions. The wines are hand-crafted, un-manipulated agricultural products that speak of a specific place and time. We DO NOT fine our wines or use manipulated organisms; making our wine vegan and Non-GMO. The very small amount of sulfites we add is there to insure the consumer is getting the very best expression of our vineyards. Grown and created in a more European style, our wines pair wonderfully with food and age beautifully.
Trinity River Vineyards is dedicated to being a responsible members of our community and environment. To that end, we donate close to ten percent of our production to environmental and social justice charities.
