Trinity River Vineyards is located in the deep and mountainous Willow Creek American Viticulture Area of Humboldt County, CA. Established in 1983 , it is one to the oldest, smallest and most northern of all the AVA’s of California. The Gardner Ranch, planted in 1973-74, has the oldest vines in Humboldt County. Tucked away on uplifted river bed from the nearby Trinity River, the vineyard produces mature and elegant Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Just down river in a slightly cooler spot, we grow our Pinot Noir and Syrah at the Covey Lane Vineyard. We also source grapes from our neighbors on the hillside above the Gardner Ranch at the Winnett Vineyard, where they farm Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. All the grapes we farm and source are organically grown using ZERO synthetic chemicals and inputs.
Our wine is rare in its steep and mountainous terrior, and our passion for sustainable agriculture is what drives our winemaking. The wines are hand-crafted, un-manipulated agricultural products that speak of a specific place and time. We DO NOT fine our wines or use manipulated organisms; making our wine vegan and Non-GMO. The very small amount of sulfites we add is there to insure the consumer is getting the very best expression of our vineyards. Grown and created in a more European style, our wines pair wonderfully with food and age beautifully.
